Central Noble Boys Compete Hard at the Goshen Relays

The Central Noble boys track and field team battled against strong competition at the Goshen Relays, turning in a day filled with determined performances. In the 100-meter preliminaries, Michael Slone led the Cougars, placing 15th overall with a time of 12.45 seconds. Teammate Sebastyn Duncan also competed, finishing 24th at 14.84 seconds. In the 1600 meters, Kyle Knafel delivered one of Central Noble’s top individual efforts of the day, clocking 4:54.34 to earn 10th place. Keegan Knight was not far behind, finishing 18th with a time of 5:11.44. The relay teams showed great teamwork and fight throughout the meet. In the 4x100 relay, the team of Adam Marker, Cole Klink, Owen Zolman, and Michael Slone finished 9th overall with a time of 47.70 seconds. In the 4x400 relay, the squad of Knight, Brady Cavanaugh, Duncan, and Gavin Kitchen posted a 13th-place time of 4:03.22. The 4x800 relay team of Knafel, Gavin Lough, Kitchen, and Knight also raced hard, coming away with a 9th-place finish and a time of 9:14.72. One of Central Noble’s best performances came in the distance medley relay, where Kitchen, Slone, Knight, and Knafel combined to place 6th with a time of 11:45.32, adding three points to the team’s total. In the field events, Cooper Kugler competed in the long jump, recording a mark of 11’ 7.5”. In the shot put, Adam Marker led the throwers, placing 10th with a throw of 40’ 9.5”, while Derick Keirn threw 27’ 2.5” to place 26th. While the podium finishes were limited, the Cougars showed grit and progress throughout the day, setting themselves up for a strong finish to their season.
