Lady Cougar Tennis Earn Strong Win Over Wawasee

The Central Noble girls tennis team put together an impressive performance, defeating Wawasee 4-1 in varsity action while also securing a 3-2 win at the junior varsity level. The Cougars were dominant in singles play, sweeping all three positions. At No. 1 singles, Kayla Kreger controlled the match from start to finish, earning a convincing 6-1, 6-0 victory over Scarlett Hardy. No. 2 singles featured a hard-fought battle, as Whitney Weaver dropped a tight first-set tiebreak 6-7 (4-7) before responding in dominant fashion. Weaver took control in the final two sets, winning 6-1, 6-1 to secure the point. At No. 3 singles, Abby Pliett showed resilience after a slow start. Following a 0-6 first set, Pliett regrouped and stormed back to win 6-2, 6-1, completing the singles sweep for Central Noble. In doubles play, the No. 1 team of McKynzie Carmien and Rheanne Sumagaysay delivered a strong performance with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Corissa Knepper and Kloee Sinn. The No. 2 doubles team of Molly Daniel and Anna Scott battled but fell 0-6, 3-6 to Tiondra Kelly and Bree Kitson. The junior varsity squad also had a successful evening, earning a 3-2 victory. Katie Mains led the way at No. 1 singles with an 8-2 win. In doubles, Ashley Hernandez Vega and Addie Perlich picked up an 8-5 victory, while Ella Miller and Abby Wallace secured another 8-5 win to clinch the team result. Overall, it was a strong showing for the Lady Cougars, highlighted by resilience in singles play and key contributions in doubles. Central Noble will look to carry this momentum into their upcoming matches.
